Who Bid/Ask is for
Bid/Ask is for the wealth adviser or high net worth investor who questions the orthodoxy of Wall Street. Specifically, two facets.
First, you question the conventional wisdom of the standard 60/40 asset allocation that dominates Wall Street. A new macro paradigm warrants more than a contrarian opinion — one that's well researched, backed by sound quantitative portfolio construction and macro strategy research.
Second, you question whether SPY, QQQ, and a portfolio of the cheapest passive ETFs is really the whole answer. You believe the pendulum has swung too far toward passive, and that there is real alpha to be found for those willing to look for it.
If either of those sounds like you, here’s what you can expect from us every month.
Screens and ETF analysis. We hunt for opportunities across sectors, with a particular focus on managers who are under followed yet running genuinely excellent processes. This is where we hunt for alpha, the same way a good analyst hunts for it in individual stocks, not just a ticker, an expense ratio, and a bid/ask spread. Thus the name.
A differentiated asset allocation. Every month and quarter, we publish commentary and analysis on our own asset allocation, built independently of the 60/40 consensus. Treat it as a second lens you can lean on, because that’s effectively what it is: our own view, backed by Team Grizzle. Thomas George, CFA and Scott Willis, CFA run the Grizzle Growth ETF (DARP). Chris Wood is Global Head of Equity Strategy at Jefferies and author of the widely read GREED & fear, ranked the number 1 equity strategist in Asia roughly 20 times over the past two decades.
